Marina City Club is a series of 15 high tower buildings containing luxury apartments and condominiums for purchase or rental. It’s located in Marina del Ray, only a mile from the beach, while also overlooking its own marina in one direction, with the other direction giving a great view of the city, and was the first high rise condominium built in the city. The towers are curved, giving residents the feeling of panoramic views, and those panoramic views are easily highlighted from the penthouse residences, with 20 foot high ceilings and windows that go from ceiling to floor. There are around 600 private residences.
People living in or near Marina City Club says it reminds them more of resort living than home living, although they do feel quite at home living there. Amenities include: 24-hour parking, along with a car wash and car detailing; security; the 16,000 square foot gym that also has a spa, sauna and massages, as well as offering aerobics, cardio, and weight rooms, free classes to learn yoga and Pilates, and personal trainers; three swimming pools; six tennis courts; a beauty salon; high speed internet for all residents; racquet ball & handball courts; a convenience store; a recreation room; a dry cleaners; maid service; a yacht club; and a sundeck.
It’s also known for two large event spaces that residents get to use for free, and others can pay for, that are always being booked for special events. Located on the third floor, The Nautilus Room, the larger of the two, has walls of glass, and looks out over the Marina. It offers a black marble bar, special designer lighting, and offers enough space for a large event such as wedding receptions. The smaller room, called the Galaxy Room, has a platform for bands, a spacious parquet dance floor and a raised, carpeted dining area. It also faces the marina.
Along with the large event rooms, there are multiple rooms to hold smaller events, including one called the Topside Room, which is where one of the restaurants, called City Cafe, used to be located. The other restaurant in the building is called, appropriately enough, the Marina View Bar & Restaurant. Residents can order food for delivery or go to either restaurant and feel like they’re having a night out on the town.
The condos themselves are all spectacular. There are combinations of 1 to 3 bedrooms condos, including studio apartments. Each of them has ceiling to floor windows, along with two bathrooms, and a balcony. They’re not furnished, so you get to add your own flair to your residence. Square footage goes from 421 square feet for the smallest studio up to 3,400 for the largest 3-bedroom, mainly the penthouse condos. Renting can go as high as $7,000 a month, whereas purchase prices can range from $400,000 to $600,000. There are some more affordable rentals for studio and one bedroom apartments.
And when you’re ready to leave the building, you’re literally a few minutes walk from many restaurants and plenty of shopping, the beach, a dog park (small pets are allowed), obviously the marina, and many social events
You can get a little bit of everything at Marina Club City. There are college students, families, athletes and celebrities. All can come together as equals in its many open spaces, and with everything it offers, it’s a fabulous place to live as though you were on vacation the rest of your life.
