Much to the delight of “Stranger Things” fans who are being forced to wait for the second part of the newest season to drop, a setting in the science fiction universe is now an Airbnb in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
During the first nine episodes of the fourth season, fans of the Netflix series are introduced to the brand new setting in the fictional town of Lenora Hills, California, where Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) has relocated her children Will (Noah Schnapp) and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) along with Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) from Hawkins, Indiana. But the house, which looks like an ode to the 1980s, is actually in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
And fans can stay there for $379 a night, according to the listing on Airbnb.
“Welcome to the NM Upside Down,” the listing says. “This four-bedroom, four-bath, 4,000-square foot residence is the Byers new home in Netflix, “Stranger Things” Season 4. You and 11 guests can stay in this spacious tri-level home located in a safe, quiet sought after neighborhood near hiking/biking trails, parks, tennis courts, restaurants, grocery stores and more.”
According to Dirt, the house was bought last year and turned into the show-themed, short-term vacation rental it now is.
Production designer Chris Trujillo told Variety that when scouting out a location for the newest Byers home, he was on the prowl for a “time capsule,” and found it in the residence.
Guests of the home can expect:
-
To “go back in time with 70s and 80s décor”
-
A fully stocked kitchen
-
Three bedrooms with king-sized beds
-
One couch in living room that pulls into a queen sleeper
-
Basement filled with arcade games
-
Bar top with treats
Up to 14 guests can stay in the house that has five bedrooms and four bathrooms.
