AN INTERIORS expert shared the classic pitfalls that could be lurking in your home making it look cheap, and it’s bad news if your curtains don’t reach the floor.
Designer Interior By Krish shared all the home choices to avoid if you want your home to look more chic than cheap.
Taking to TikTok, the pro listed off all the potential problem areas in a video with the caption: “Things making your house look cheap.”
LED strip lighting
First on his hit list was sticking LED strip lights on the ceiling so that they are visible.
Small artwork
Next up he advised against small artwork and said you’re better off investing in larger pieces as smaller photos won’t full fill up your walls.
Hanging TV cables
The next suggestion was that if you don’t want your house to look cheap tuck away those pesky TV cables that often hang down and make the place look untidy.

Outdated lighting

Short curtains
Finally he flagged the dangers of short curtains for making your home look cheap, apparently investing in full length drapes will give your home a classy feel.
The popular video has now been viewed more than three million times and has more than 250k likes.
But fellow TikTokers were not impressed with his suggestions.
One person said: “My house is clearly cheap but it’s loved and my happy place so I won’t be changing it.”
Another said: “Ok, let’s see the pictures of your perfect house now.”
While a third said: “Cheap? Do you mean ‘not decorated to please others’?”
But not everyone was against the interior decorator.

One follower said: “So much hate here, clearly this reached an unintended audience haha. I appreciate the tips.'”
While another said: “The comment section is so defensive lol.”
