Once the plans have been drawn, the appliances have been chosen, and the paint has been swatched, it’s time for the furniture.

Although the design is so much more than the soft finishes, we love working with our team to pull everything together. In our Home on the Bay project, we incorporated a few of our favorite pieces. Seeing them in the beautiful space we designed with Sausalito Construction, and Holscher Architecture was one of the most rewarding parts of the process.

Now that we’ve shared all of the photo tours and webisodes, we’re highlighting a few of the pieces that made each space shine. You can check out the entire project in our portfolio here if you missed it, and read on to shop each space and see a few highlights!

The Entryway

We used large-scale pieces to fill in the space between the beautiful black steel windows and the great room in the entryway. It’s hard to choose a favorite between the vintage console table, the large circular mirror, and the statement pendants, but we love how these pieces work together to create a welcoming feeling for our clients and their guests.

“One of the prettiest features in this entryway is the repeated effect of the lanterns. We decided to make a statement with repetition, and that really sets the tone for this entire home.”

The Great Room

The great room space invites you in with tall ceilings and woven pendants, and we incorporated relaxed mixed furniture pieces to ground the look and invite you in. Our team was excited to incorporate MENU’s plinth marble side table in this space, and we love how it adds a bold and modern element to the more traditional surrounding pieces.

The Dining Area

In the dining room, we focused on creating interest in the seating in the dining room with mixed silhouettes and styles. Since we launched the Jacoby Chair at McGee & Co., we’ve been looking forward to using it in one of our dining room projects, and this space was the perfect fit! Contrasted by the soft curved lines of the slip-covered captain chairs, they create a statement that makes the look.

“This dining room is all about creating a statement with the furniture.”

The Kitchen

One of the first pieces we chose in the kitchen were the textural woven counter stools. We loved how they added warmth, shape, and dimension to this light and bright kitchen, instantly making it feel more inviting. A vintage runner, timeless lanterns, and industrial pendants complete the look and add some character to the space.

The Living & Dining Nook

The furniture pieces in the living and dining nook were all about adding contrast and function. We started with a round table for a breakfast nook moment in the corner and added lounge seating for our clients to watch tv and gather together. Because this was a more dressed-down seating space, we did an L-shaped sofa that allows you to put your feet up and relax. The round woven coffee table mixes up the square shape and ensures an easy flow through the space.

“When you choose an L-shaped sofa, pairing it with a round coffee table or ottoman works best to allow space to walk around it.”

The Primary Bedroom

Our clients wanted the primary bedroom and suite to feel calming, coastal, and retreat-like, and each piece in this room reflects that feeling. We played with the contrast of traditional and contemporary in this space, blending styles from the classic shape of the curved sette and chandelier, to the modern feeling of the Knoll armchair in the corner reading nook.
