Going to the beach means a lot of sun and fun in the sand, but it could also mean a lot of stress. Trying to remember everything you need can be hard to do. Not to mention the pain of making multiple trips back and forth to the car for all your stuff. Luckily, there are a few things you can do to ensure you have the most relaxing beach trip of your life.

Make a List

One of the most important aspects of a beach trip is making sure you have everything you need. When you do your packing off the top of your head, you’re likely going to forget things. Instead, start a list of what you need.

When making your list, make sure you think of every aspect of the trip to the beach so you don’t leave anything out. Then when you’re ready to finally start packing, you can just mark each item off the list as you pack it.

Get a Wagon

A wagon is going to be a lifesaver for your next trip to the beach. Instead of trying to carry everything in your arms or make countless trips back to the car, pile it all into a wagon. A good option would be to get one that is large but foldable. That way, it fits into the back of the car yet can still hold everything you need it to.

Another important thing to look for on the wagon is one with large caster wheels. Big, sturdy wheels will be easier to drag through the sand and can better support the weight of your things.

Bring Food

It can be pretty frustrating to pack everything up when you’ve only been there for a few hours, just to then come back and unpack it again after lunch. Save yourself the headache by bringing your own food. You can pack easy-to-eat items such as sandwiches or wraps. Or, you could pack individual storage containers with pasta or even leftovers from the night before.

When planning the food, don’t forget to bring plenty of water and snacks for later in the day. Nothing works an appetite up quite like playing in the water.

Use Sunscreen

A surefire way to ruin your day at the beach is to not regularly use sunscreen. Before you know it, all movements are painful, and you can barely sit in the car for the ride home. Instead, apply a strong, waterproof sunscreen and reapply it every few hours. Set an alarm if you need to. You want to remember the beach trip for the amazing time you had, not for the terrible sunburn you got.
