So you’ve built your website, it looks great and you’re ready to make some money. The next question is ‘how do you get people to visit your website?’
Well, being that I’ve been doing this kinda thing for about 4 years now, I have some tips that could answer your question.
The first thing you should do is to make sure that your website is helping itself. By that I mean, make sure there is enough great, original content that people want to read.
Make sure that you have an action for these visitors to take whether it’s signing up to a mailing list or going on to a merchant website that you’re affiliated with etc.
Here are some other ways to get people to visit your website.
Search Engine Optimization
This is the process where you make your site rank at the top of the search engines for searches related to your website.
For example, if your website is about “Mexico vacations”, you may want to find keywords that describe your web pages and put them in the title of these pages. So when someone searches for something like “all inclusive Acapulco vacations” they should find that page on your “Mexico vacations” website because you have a page dedicated to just that topic and you have those keywords in the title.
You’ll also need to build links to this page as well so that it ranks better and better as time goes by.

Blog Regularly
Have a blog as part of your website where you could blog about your opinions on current events related to your website.
As an example, the recent gulf oil spill crisis no doubt had some effect on “Mexico Vacations”. Maybe people wanted to know how their favorite vacation spots were affected.
Blogging about that news event in relation to your website’s topic would have no doubt given you a very large amount of visitors especially if you kept abreast of developments and blogged regularly.
Getting these same people to subscribe to your blog would create return visitors also.
Social Media
Everybody is on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and other social sites lately. So why not get them to come to your site.
Create social media accounts and actively participate by submitting videos to YouTube with links back to your site, tweeting your blog posts and adding a Facebook page for your website.
Make sure you have your profile links set to go to your website so when people encounter you and decide to check out your profile they’ll know where to go next – your website.
Article Marketing
This is one of my favorite methods for getting people to your website because it accomplishes a lot of things at the same time.
Firstly it establishes you as an authority in your field. It also helps with your website’s search engine optimization by building links to your website (remember I said we’d talk about this)?
Also articles usually stick around for as long as your website does so you can be getting visitors to your website for years to come.
This is one of the best ways to get people to visit your website and it is such a powerful strategy that entire resources are dedicated to people who want to learn more about article marketing.
